Apologies for the intermission- I have just arrived back from a two week holiday to Arizona. I thought that I might do some pool-side writing, relaxing in the sunshine, but instead I unplugged almost completely and loved it. So here we are with a bit of a late post. I meant to go live with them for an early February blog post but ended up snuggling with Rusty the puppy instead. Better late than never though!
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a trillion times, Kate Spade makes the cutest novelty accessories (and a recent purchase will further prove it, stay tuned!). I picked these up about a year ago, pranced around like an idiot when I rocked them, got a crap-ton of compliments and decided to repeat that routine every so often. It works.
Despite the rather bright red shade, these flats prove to be extremely versatile. I love the look of them with faded, beat-up denim and a white or striped t-shirt; with a flowing summer dress or an all black ensemble complete with a low messy bun and oversized sweater. Whatever the ensemble, these shoes just work.
Now the shoe itself fits very true to size- I am a size 7 and find that I have never faltered in sizing while purchasing any Kate Spade shoe. I didn’t need to break them in as they are so comfortable and don’t pinch or rub in any way. The suede is easy to keep clean and the glittery heart adornment is secured really well. No complaints.
Anyway, this exact pair is no longer available but I saw recently on the Kate Spade website that they have some very similar pairs up for grabs this month. Everyone this year seemed to be sharing Valentines look books and outfit inspiration. I suppose you could count these as mine even though my real outfit that day was a pair of gym shorts, bare feet and a neon pink sugarskull tank. To each their own.
So tell me, what is your go to Valentine outfit? Did you get festive or were you like me where puppies, ice cream and Harry Potter was all you could possibly need? Let me know in the comment section below and thanks for stopping by!
There is always something about a quirky novelty shoe that brightens up my day. These bunny flats by Kate Spade have been on high rotation since nabbing them this past Fall. I admit, at first although I loved them I was unsure exactly how much I’d wear them; but sure enough, I treat them as a neutral flat with a cotton tail and they make their appearance every so often.
These are comfy to boot with soft brushed suede and a fuzzy pom pom tail. Perhaps even cuter than the tail- the spade nose, the tiniest gold accent. The only unfortunate thing about these is that they are so light I can only wear them when it is completely dry outside, or indoors only. I know it is only January, but I can’t wait for spring to some so these can accompany me as I hop all around town.
Anyway, are you a novelty shoe fanatic or would you rather keep it classic and cool? Let me know in the comments below. Happy weekend!
I plan on doing a little catch-up blogging over the next while. I have tons to share with you from my trip to Arizona over Easter break, and a lot of excitement coming up through the Spring. A couple weekends ago I went out with some girlfriends for dinner and had fun picking out some accessories before the night began.
I got those Manolo Blahnik BB pumps a couple years ago and I still love them just as much as I did when I first grabbed them. The colour is everything, don’t you think? Unfortunately they are a bit more stiff than some of my other pairs of Manolos so they don’t make it out quite as often as I’d like them to. I think at this point I own more BB style pumps than any other type of stiletto- and if you know my shoe closet you’d understand that that is quite the statement. Really they are just a great shoe. I know I compare them to Jimmy Choo’s Abel quite often but I have to say that MB is currently outnumbering JC. I can’t wait to share with you the latest addition from my trip on here. Don’t forget to stay tuned for that!
You may also remember that kissy face clutch by Kate Spade. It has made it onto Talk to My Shoes a few times now. I picked it up about a year ago while in Arizona when I was putting together an outfit for a special celebratory evening for E’s work. I love that it is a great size and super versatile- it holds everything, and more than what you would want to carry with you in a clutch and works just as well in the day time with a pair of jeans as it does in the evening with a cute dress. Definitely one of my better purchases. My favourite part? The “Hello Stranger” stamp on the backside.
I hope that everyone had a great Easter and that the Spring is treating you well. Today is very windy yet it is sunny so at least it is motivating to get up and get at ‘er. Thanks again for stopping by! Hugs.
With the way I have been going lately, these Kate Spade Taxi Flats are more than appropriate. Be it running between classrooms, gym, groceries or just out for general errands, these flats have been working there wheels in many ways.
It felt impossible to find these and I feel pretty excited and lucky to finally have a pair. I know that this style was released quite a while ago, and most recently in gold for the holidays, but when the original patent yellow was made available again, I pounced quickly (and barely landed on a pair). It isn’t like me to buy a shoe in patent leather, and though I enjoy the look of it, I never seem to do well with the stiffness of the shoe. However, these have proved to be quite comfortable. After reading some reviews online I was a little hesitant about sizing- everyone saying they pinch and to go up half a size, but I followed my gut and went with my true size (7) and they have been more than fine.
I’m looking forward to wearing these again and again. Kate Spade does such great novelty work and the compliments I’ve received on this pair have been endless. Go pick them up, I think you need a pair too!
